If you decide to transfer a domain name from one domain name registrar to another, you’ll have to pass through a couple of security procedures. One of them is obtaining a special EPP authorization code from the present registrar – as long as you are the registrant, since the code is sent to the owner's mailbox and nobody else can see it. You’ll need to provide this code to the new registrar, or else they won’t be able to begin the domain transfer process. The EPP codes are case-sensitive and may include numbers or special characters such as dots or commas, which can be easily mistyped, so make sure you copy and paste the correct code. As an extra safety measure, the transfer authorization code for a domain may be reset regularly. Certain companies call this code an Auth key, a domain secret or a domain password as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Cloud Website Hosting

You can obtain the EPP transfer authentication code for any domain that you’ve registered through us with just a couple of mouse clicks from the exact same Hepsia Control Panel that you will use to administer your cloud website hosting account. As soon as you go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll find all your domains conveniently displayed in alphabetical order. In case some TLD extension supports transfers between domain name registrars with an EPP transfer code, you will see an EPP button to the right of the given domain name. If you click that button, the code will be emailed to the email associated with the Registrant contact for the domain in question. If you want, you can modify the contact info, including the email, without the need to leave this section of the Control Panel, if the currently entered email isn’t valid any longer.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

In case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server account with us and you have registered a domain name that you’d like to transfer, you can get the EPP transfer code exceptionally easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll administer both your account and your domain names. If you visit the Registered Domains section, you will notice an EPP button next to your domain names, as long as their TLD extensions support transfers between domain name registrars with such a code. All codes are sent automatically by our system to the registrant’s email address to ensure that only the domain owner can get this information. If the currently entered address is not valid, you can modify it with several clicks of the mouse without leaving this Control Panel section. The update is instantaneous, so you will be able to request the EPP transfer code for the respective domain name straight away.
